An informal personal record
Welcome to my webspace, dedicated to making my occasional photographs of birds and wildlife accessible to friends and family. This is not a fully optimised, publicly-promoted site (though I have recently registered with Google). If you've stumbled across it, you're very welcome to browse.
Although I've ditched the really bad pics, you'll find a combination of acceptable portraits and mere 'record shots'. I offer all the usual excuses about bad weather, heat haze, expedience etc.
These days, between work and family commitments, I get few opportunities to indulge in 'full-on' birding, let alone immerse myself in the consuming challenges of wildlife photography.
Most of what's here has been photographed during my 'early years' or while snatching a few hours during business trips and family holidays. It's certainly incomplete; and it's mostly digiscoped stuff or scans of old fashioned prints.
I finally got round to replacing my trusty Canon A1 and Tokina 300mm f2.8 ATX with a digital rig (Canon EOS 7D, Canon 400mm f4.0 DO IS USM, Canon EF 100mm f2.8L Macro IS USM Lens, Canon 1.4 extender) in November 2009. I'm hoping you'll notice a marked improvement in quality!
As and when I get outdoors, I'll add more stuff. By way of a blog, I'll endeavour to keep the additions list below updated.
