Caspian Gull

Larus cachinnans

Above: Juvenile (Essex, 11 August 2012)

A rare fully juvenile individual, 'phone-binned' (using my BlackBerry and reserve pair of Opticron Alpin 10x40 binoculars) from the car in heat haze and a strong wind. Compare with this more advanced juvenile Yellow-legged Gull photographed on the same day.
