Caspian Gull hybrid

Larus cachinnans (x ?)

Above: 2nd winter/3rd calendar year (Essex, 10 February 2012)

The extensively streaked head as well as the overall structure suggest some impurity, perhaps from an argentatus or michahellis. These images don't do justice to the deep billed, robust-bodied appearance of this bird in the field.
