Above: Largely juvenile/2nd calendar year (QE2 Reservoir, Surrey, 07 February 2009)

Showing nearly full juvenile plumage very late into the season (07 February 2009). Such late mouolting birds are often runts that show other signs of delayed development. However, this individual looks normal in terms of size and structure.
