Above: 1st winter/2nd calendar year (Porto Santo, Madeira, March 1991)

These three were part of a flock of five first winter birds present on the beach of Porto Santo island, off Madeira. The port of Funchal, on mainland Madeira, also held at least two adults on the same date.
