It's not hard to appreciate why this charismatic 'dry wader' was chosen as the symbol of the Qatar Bird Club. Once accustomed to photographer and car, the flock of four repeatedly approached and fed alongside the vehicle. Unfortunately, it is this same endearing quality that makes them such vulnerable prey to the local hunters.
