Pozana parva

(Above) Ar Ruwais, North Coast, Qatar, 22 September 2012 (Digibinned: Swarovski 8x32 EL + Sony DSC-W610)

A near-moribund juvenile that was desperately seeking shade - under Wayne's thigh! As well as presumaby being extremely dehydrated, it looked to have been injured ... or more likely, shot. It had presumably just crossed the Gulf, perhaps from Iran. The good news is that it was seen actively feeding along the mangrove fringes a few hours later.
