Pallas's Gull
Larus ichthyaetus
Numbers of this magnificent gull have been excellent here in Qatar this winter, with at least one day-count being well over a hundred. Sure, it's not quite the massed flocks seen further east in the Gulf, but it's a spectacular and welcome sight none-the-less.
