Egyptian Nightjar
Caprimulgus aegyptius

(Above) Irkayya Farm, Qatar, 25 January 2014 (EOS 7D, 300mm f2.8)

Very shaky and a couple of most peculiar poses. Photographed in the headlights in the early hours of the morning, and proving that Egyptian Nightjar is a winter resident. We found five birds tonight. However, breeding in Qatar in recent times has yet to be proved.
