Lesser Sandplover
Charadrius (mongolus) pamirensis?

Above: Note the long primaries extending beyond the tail.

Above: Note the dark plumage and small size and attenuated shaped compared to the Greater Sandplover on the right (presumably Charadrius leschenaulti crassirostris/columbinus).

Above: Note the capped appearance and spindly legs.

(Above) Al Wakrah, Qatar, 16 November 2013 (EOS 7D, 300mm f2.8 + 2x Extender)

While watching Greater and Lesser Sandplovers at Al Wakrah beach, alongside Kentish Plovers, Dunlin, Sanderling, Terek Sandpiper, Little Stint and Curlew Sandpipers, I noticed a dark Sandplover which at first sight was perplexing.
