Arabian Grey Shrike
Lanius (pallidirostris) aucheri

(Above) Irkaya Farm, Qatar, 03 March 2014

Looking initially like a Steppe Grey, it's more likely to be a 1st winter Southern Grey of the form aucheri. This bird would simply not sit still long or near enough for me to get a good view of its moult. But the jizz and colouration is suggestive of a female or first winter aucheri rather than Steppe Grey pallidirostris, though I am disconcerted by the extensive amount of white in the outer tail which looks extreme for aucheri.
