I spent an hour with this splendid male. It was in the company of a female, though she proved extremely skittish and I could attempt only distant photos across a large expanse of heat haze. In contrast, this male spent several periods under the car sheltering from the sun. The female meanwhile disappeared into a culvert where I suspect they were nesting.
