Bengal (Black-breasted) Weaver
Ploceus bengalensis

(Above) Sailiyah, Qatar, 04 January 2013 (EOS 7D, 300mm f2.8 + 2x Extender)

NB. Identification yet to be fully confirmed.

Updated May 2013: From images of Weavers taken in Qatar, it appears that Streaked Weavers have pinkish bills (other than summer-plumaged males which sport all-black bills). In contrast, birds thought to be Bengal (Black-breasted) Weavers appear to show bluish-grey bills, as in the images above. Perhaps this might prove to be a useful identification feature.
