Black-necked Grebe

Above: Island Barn Reservoir, Surrey (15 April 2005). One of a group of four.

Above: QE2 Reservoir, Surrey (18 March 2005). Two with Black-throated Diver in lower picture.

Above: Weir Wood Reservoir, East Sussex (August 1983)

My first ever 'rare' Grebe species, taken on what was practically a Polaroid camera! Black-necked grebes were once a regular autumn feature at Weir Wood, but have been extremely scarce in recent years.
