Red-flanked Bluetail

Above: Winspit, Dorset (October 1984). Scanned from print.

Mike and Tanya Langman and I found this gem one cold October morning, immediately after we had decided to pack up birding for the day and head back up to the pub to sit infront of a warm log fire. It was the first ever twitchable mainland record for Britain ... and the rest is history!
