(Northern) Willow Warbler

Above: Holme, Norfolk (May 1986). Scanned from print.

In the field, this bird showed pale grey plumage with no yellows or greens, clean white underparts, a strong primary projection, uniformly coloured supercilium with dark eyestripe, and brightly coloured legs. A pale wing panel is evident, formed by pale fringes to the outer webs and tips of the inner secondaries. Unfortunately, it was not heard to call.
